A Tribute to a Hero- Ernest R. Gutierrez Sr.

It began in a home on the West end of Ventura. A beloved father teaching his Son to box. Throughout my life, my father guided me, showed me the way with love, honor and respect. "Always strong, always tempestuous and always in the arena", as Teddy Roosevelt once said.

He was a caring and hard working man, teaching his children to respect others and to work hard towards your goals. “Any goal can be achieved through hard work and determination”, “The sky is your limit” and “Nothing comes free in this world, you’ve got to earn it” were just a few words of his wisdom.

Even during the worst of times, he was always there. As Richard Nixon once said, “We think that when someone dies, we think that when we lose or suffer a defeat that all has ended", we think as Teddy Roosevelt said, "That the light had left his life forever". Your light will forever remain in my heart.

I dedicate this website in your memory to all the future champions that set foot in our gym. We will instill the same morals, values and respect that you taught me throughout your long lived life. You will always be remembered as a hardworking, considerate, respected and well deserving man. You have given me the torch to climb the mountain and I will never give up hope for anyone or anything. You are definitely my inspiration.
